In 1973-74 CWO Willard Rusk {served  w/ 498th Vietnam} at Ft Hood, Tx. , tested a new system of Crash-Rescue, fire fighting and rescue by Med-Evac Helicopters.  {it was tested but not adopted} go to site below for pictures of test. The idea was to cut a path through the fire so the firefighter or medic could extract injured personnel
